UB Freight’s Story

The journey of UB Freight began 17 years ago in May 2001 in a garage in South Auckland. Having recently immigrated from Fiji the original UB team used their connections in the freight industry to negotiate wholesale airfreight rates normally reserved for business customers only. They then passed these rates on to friends and family to helping them to send goods and gifts back home to Fiji. Hence the name UB standing for Unaccompanied Baggage.

From these humble beginnings and with hard work and entrepreneurial skills, UB Freight has grown to the successful operation it is today with 100 staff members spread across New Zealand and Fiji working out of our purpose-built warehouses, truck and vehicle fleet as well as our presence in Samoa, Australia, China and agents in another 190 countries. With this success you will still find the team taking the time to help personal customers with their shipments, making sure everyone gets the same level of service big or small.

UB Freight’s Traditional Values

It was the dedication, hard work and honesty that got UB Freight started and it’s those same values that underpin the company today. With a guiding principle of four core values that is imparted to all staff UB Freight Staff are be: Transparent, Proactive, Customer First and a Problem Solver. These values along with our vision provide a basis point for how our staff operate and interact with all our stakeholders. It’s these values that have allowed us to now count many of New Zealand and Fiji’s largest companies as our valued customers.

UB Freight Agent Networks

Our membership of three major global agent networks gives us access to professional freight forwarding services in all key overseas markets. We have the freedom to select the best-performing agents in each market. This allows us to match our customer’s requirements with the agent best suited to their and our needs.

OUR AGENT NETWORKS ARE:

• World Freight Network (WFN) – (WFN) was established in 2004 and has successfully linked together 214 independent freight forwarders in 100 countries.
• WorldWide Partnership CargoLink Network (WWPC) – This global network operates from all corners of the world. Established in 1994 they continually growing in strength and agent members.
• LogNet Global which is part of WCA the world’s largest and most powerful network of independent freight forwarders, with over 6860-member offices in 190 countries around the world. The combined logistics might of the WCA membership exceeds that even of the world’s largest multinational freight forwarders.
